Markham Wesley Centre facility closure in response to COVID-19

 

Closure effective March 14 at 6 p.m. until further notice

Markham Wesley Centre (MWC) will close effective March 14 at 6 p.m. until further notice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All recreation and interest group programs, drop-ins, services, events and facility rentals are cancelled.

The health and well-being of our community members is our top priority.  Although we have been advised that the risk of contracting COVID-19 is low, we are taking preventive measures to protect our community members and reduce the spread of the virus.

Program policy changes and refunds:

MWC’s program has relaxed some policies until further notice to allow participants more flexibility in making the best decision possible for themselves, their family or their organization.

  • Refunds for cancelled program dates will be automatically issued to all programs participants without penalty.
  • The Markham Wesley Centre will offer refunds to ticket buyers for all events between now and until further notice. All rental clients scheduled between now and until further notice will also be refunded without penalty.
  • Facility rental agreements will be amended to reflect the dates affected by the facility closures and/or credits placed on accounts.

We understand the closures of our center will impact many members, families and facility users, but we believe health and safety of our community takes precedence.  We will continue monitoring any updates of the COVID-19 pandemic and adjust our operations according to the recommendations of health authorities.

MWC has implemented the following additional actions to help reduce the spread of COVID-19:

  • Provided touchless hand sanitizer and soap dispensers dispensers in facility.
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas in facilities.
  • Posted COVID-19 information in high traffic areas and electronic communications.
  • Mandatory self-screening for signs of illness or communicable disease for all users and visitors.

萬民衛斯理社區服務中心 - 因應新型冠狀病毒暫時關閉

由3月14日下午6時起暫時關閉直至另行通知。

 

萬民衛斯理社區服務中心（MWC）因應對新型冠狀病毒大流行，於3月14日下午6時起暫時關閉直至另行通知。所有活動課程、服務和場地租賃均被取消。 

社區的健康和福祉是我們的首要任務。儘管我們被告知感染新型冠狀病毒的風險很低，但我們仍選擇採取預防措施來保護我們社區內每一位成員並減少病毒的傳播。 

課程活動政策更改和退款： 

萬民衛斯理社區服務中心（MWC）將放寬一些政策，讓參與者能夠更加靈活地為自己及家人做出最佳決策，直到另行通知為止： 

-   所有受影響之課程參與者，將自動獲得關閉期間之退款，本會將不收取任何罰款。

-   萬民衛斯理社區服務中心將​​從現在起直至另行通知為所有活動的購票者提供退款。

-   將因應關閉期的影響對所有場地租賃協議進行修訂，包括日期及或費用。

 

我們了解中心之關閉對大家影響甚深，但基於社區健康及安全之考量，我們將繼續密切關注新型冠狀病毒大流行之任何更新，並根據衛生當局的建議調整運營。 

目前中心已採取下列措施來幫助減少新型冠狀病毒的傳播： 

-   中心提供免觸式消毒液及洗手液。

-   增加了中心高接觸區域的清潔和消毒。

-   於中心高流量區域和網上發布有關新型冠狀病毒的信息。

-   對所有使用者和訪客進行強制性自我檢查，以檢查是否有疾病或傳染跡象。
